Practical Information & Tips for Installing Vehicle Wraps

Selecting Materials
Full knowledge of a vehicle's condition is important for selecting the right vinyl for the wrap. Information such as the vehicle size; age and condition of the paint job; application over plastic parts, difficult corrugations or rivets; and any problem zones will help determine whether you should use a cast or calendered film.
Calendered films are relatively strong films which provide the advantage of being robust and easily removable for vehicles without "problem zones". It can be used in applications consisting mainly of flat surfaces, such as panel trucks and other easier to install transit applications.
Cast films can easily be applied with a heat deep-drawing process for vehicle wrappings with "problem zones", such as rivets, complex curves, and irregular surfaces. It can be used on passenger vehicles such as compact cars, SUV’s and motorcycles.
Due to its manufacturing processes, cast film is very thin and has excellent durability and conformability characteristics. Typically cast films are the best choice when irregular surfaces, such as corrugations and rivets, are going to be covered.
